Neighborhood & Economic Development Program
Central Baltimore Partnership

The Central Baltimore Partnership (CBP) is a new coalition of neighborhood, private, public, and institutional interests that has been forged to increase investment and improve the quality of life in an important section of our city. With the help of Mayor Sheila Dixon, the CBP is developing a highly focused and unified effort to transform the area around North Avenue (a zone that runs roughly from Howard to Greenmount and includes streets south to the railroad tracks and north to 24th Street). Greater Homewood Community Corporation is a strategic partner in this coalition, staffing the program and coordinating its efforts.
The CBP is engaging, either directly or indirectly, virtually every neighborhood organization, major property owner, university, nonprofit agency, CDC, and foundation in the target area and many from the stronger communities immediately surrounding it. In addition, Mayor Sheila Dixon has committed her Administration and key agencies to the Partnership and assigned Deputy Mayor Andy Frank to lead the city’s participation.
