ESOL Program

Overview

The Greater Homewood ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Program offers English language instruction to foreign-born adult residents, refugees, and immigrants living and working in Baltimore. Our classes emphasize communication and life skills, including pronunciation, vocabulary development, listening and speaking skills, and grammar. We work with adults aged 16 and older in classes, and 18 and above in one-to-one tutoring. Trained volunteer tutors meet with individual learners at least two hour each week on a flexible schedule.

This program is supported by grant funding from Maryland Literacy Works and the U.S. Department of Education.
