40 Trees in 40 Neighborhoods Initiative
In honor of our 40th anniversary in 2009, GHCC will plant at least 40 trees in each of the 40 neighborhoods within north central Baltimore, for a total of 1,600 trees. These plantings will take place over the next year with the help of residents, community groups, schools, and businesses. We’ll plant in city parks, on school grounds, on private property, and along neighborhood streets.
GHCC has been rooted in its neighborhoods since 1969, and we are committed to the growth of a cleaner and greener future.
Upcoming 40 Trees in 40 Neighborhoods Events
As a part of the 40 Trees in 40 Neighborhoods initiative, GHCC staff provides technical assistance with planning tree plantings, giveaways, and accessing greening resources in Baltimore. Are you looking for ways to increase the tree canopy in your neighborhood? Would you like assistance with a tree planting, a residential tree giveaway, or navigating the resources provided by the City? Need volunteers to help get trees in the ground? We're happy to help.
