Are You a Student or Teacher with Exciting Ideas on How to Improve Urban Education?

Bring your imagination to life through audio, video, animation, music, or other media and submit a two-minute public service announcement (PSA) to a multimedia festival sponsored by the Center for Innovation in Urban Education at Loyola University Maryland’s School of Education.

Festival entries must be submitted by Monday, March 15.  Submissions will be screened and winners announced on Tuesday, April 6, from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. in McGuire Hall on Loyola’s N. Charles Street campus. There is no fee to enter, and the April 6 screening event is free and open to the public.

Entries should present solutions to today’s challenges in urban education, explain what today’s young people need to know to succeed, and explore how urban schools can offer innovative learning opportunities for the adults of tomorrow. Submissions will also be evaluated on the bases of aesthetic quality; feasibility of recommendations; innovation and passion; creativity and humor; and level of technical proficiency.  Winners will be chosen in four categories: under age 14, ages 14–17, ages 17–22, and teachers or student/teacher collaborations. Winning entries in each category will earn a $100 Visa gift card.
